Hello everyone! Welcome to The Skin Experiment. I’m Jolina and this is where I share my reviews on various skincare and beauty products that I’ve tried and loved (or not). Plus skincare tips I’ve picked up along the way.
I’m in my mid-40s, which I realize is very late to be thinking about skincare. I’ve always been just a cleanser-moisturizer-sunscreen kind of girl (thank heavens I’ve always worn sunscreen).
I used toner at one point but that was a long, long time ago when it was still the strong astringent kind.
I rarely wear any makeup either. Just a lightly tinted moisturizer, sometimes blush, and lipgloss. Why? First because I’m lazy. But more importantly, I thought my skin was just that good I can get away with the no makeup look.
Newsflash: it’s not. And I can’t.
Lately I started noticing how dull and blah my skin looks. How many dark spots I have. All those tiny annoying bumps on my face.
So the past few months I found myself cramming 20 years of skincare knowledge into my brain. Better late than never, right?
And I started trying out different products. There are A LOT of products.
So I thought I’d help you out by sharing what worked for me and what didn’t. What products are worth re-purchasing and what are way overhyped.
I started my hunt for age-appropriate make up too. My fine lines need hiding, not highlighting!
Disclaimer: I’m not a beauty expert or a skincare guru. In fact I’m just like you! A regular girl trying to navigate the big bright (sometimes scary) world of skincare.
This should be fun! Hope you come along for the ride. Let’s get that perfect, glowing, skincare-guru skin together. Our mature, less-than-perfect skin will thank us for it.
